Effect of Formaldehyde as a Preservative on the
Detection of Detergent in Milk

Abstract

"The presence of anionic detergent in fresh milk can be detected early. However, great precaution is needed when test is performed for detection of detergent in milk samples preserved with formalin. The accuracy of the test results is affected by the presence of formalin in milk and milk products. There are adverse effects of formalin preservation of milk on fat percentages."
