Abstract

"Nutrition plays a beneficial role on the immune system of the animal. Micronutrients, along with energy and protein, are important for the activation and proper functioning of the immune system. Both passive and cell mediated immunity are positively affected by micronutrients as they are important to develop, enhance and restore the immune functions. Minerals, especially trace minerals and vitamins act on the antioxidant system, maintaining health and improving the productivity of the animal."
