Abstract

"There is a huge demand for land for food in the country, along with stiff competition for food between humans and animals. The food grains chiefly wheat, paddy, maize, barley, bajra, jowar and ragi are grown for human consumption and only a smaller part is meant for livestock and poultry feeding. Better and more persuasive strategies are required to meet the feed scarcity challenge in the Indian livestock sector."
